In this section teachers will find a collection of tools used by teachers to support assessment for and as learning. Assessment tools are what a teacher uses to record or categorize observations and evidence of student learning. The tool should provide the teacher with an efficient and effective way to gather assessment data. As well, the tool should provide opportunities to help students build their capacity as self-assessors. It should also reflect the students’ successes and areas for improvement. These are practical tools used by ETFO teachers in their classrooms. The tools are organized by Primary (Kindergarten & Grades 1-3), Junior (Grades 4-6), Intermediate (Grades 7-8), and French. The tools represent a broad spectrum of curriculum areas. Teachers are encouraged to explore the divisional sections, keeping in mind, that many tools can be adapted to different grade levels and assessment purposes.
